Bert Mutch and Eminent Win the $7,500 Equine Insurance Welcome Prix

Eminent, the mare that just keeps giving, wins again at Sonoma Horse Park. Bert Mutch and this invincible horse have been making waves with a consistent performance. The wins keep on rolling in.

“Marina Azevedo set a really nice course this evening nothing trappy or tricky, she had a lot of clear rounds, providing the horse the opportunity to get into the ring on a nice track for the first time in the week. I was really lucky to ride Eminent again, she is super fast naturally without trying to be fast. It’s really nice because if you are smooth, she is really quick across the ground and quick in the air. I seem to be on a roll with this horse and have figured her out a bit more. I try not to get in her way, because she is a competitor and has prove to be a winner before. She just keeps proving herself over and over, that is now three big classes in a row for her” Bert explained. “I was ninth in the class, I had a similar experience at the Oaks in the Markel Grand Prix where I went first, I laid one down in the first round and came back in for the jump off. I had been knocking on the door with Eminent; fastest 4 faults, won a couple at 1.40m. Everyone told me they were riding for second place and it held up and we won the class.”
